A carved chair featuring a portrait of Amenhotep III who was also known as Amenhotep the Magnificent; the 9th Pharaoh of Egypt. His reign was a period of unprecedented prosperity and artistic splendor, when Egypt reached the peak of her artistic and international power.
The wood chair features a seat that lifts and can act as storage. The base of the chair is carved with panels featuring fish, birds, lizards and foliage. These are a testament to the artificial lake Amenhotep excavated for his royal wife Queen Tiyhe.
